Leo #7076

      E-Mail My Foster Family
Name: Leo
Breed: Long Haired Chihuahual Mix
Age: 2 Years
Sex: Male, neutered (6 lbs.)

I am so happy that I was rescued. I am only 6 lbs and I am in pretty bad shape. I was found wandering the streets by animal control. It's been a long time since someone really took care of me. I have lost most of my hair down my back temporarily due to bad nutrition, skin irritation and heartworms. I was running a temperature due to the heat of my body fighting off the skin irritation on my back.

I was brought to my foster mom's home where I have been bathed in special soap and cleaned up. She says I have to go to the vet to get a full check up and plan my recovery. I will need treatments for heartworms and my loss of hair. I used to have a beautiful coat when I was at home with my original family.  I am very thankful that I will be able to get healthy. Being so little I haven't been feeling very well the last few weeks with everything going on in my body.

My foster mom and her friends think I have the biggest brown eyes. They say they make me absolutely adorable : )    I am doing very well with my house training, I get along with other dogs, but prefer smaller dogs. I do not do well with children. I can be nippy with strangers and some dogs, my foster mom is currently working with me

My foster mom named me Leo, because I only have hair around my face and neck. Safe Haven has had every possible test done for me to see why I do not have any hair. I actually sweat and could be mixed with a Chinese Hairless dog, which is one of the only breeds of dogs that sweat
