My owners surrendered me to a local animal shelter.  They lost their home due to a flood and had to surrender me and my buddy to the local pound.  My buddy was a young boxer and has already been adopted, but I didn't stand a chance of being adopted at my age in an over crowded shelter.  The rescue coordinator sent out a plea to all the rescue groups in hopes that someone could help.  Safe Haven was already full but could not stand to see how heartbroken I was and they came to my rescue.  I was very frightened and did not understand what was happening to me in the loud, chaotic environment of a municipal shelter.  Safe Haven knows that it will be very hard to get a 16 year old adopted and ask that donations be made on behalf as I will probably live my life out with Safe Haven.  Any donation on my behalf will help cover the cost of quality food, and medications for my arthritis.

I am a great dog.  I am house trained, leash trained and enjoy car rides.  I have partial hearing and vision loss, and arthritis in my knees and hips.  For a 16 year old girl, I am in pretty good shape and am very spry.  I get along with all dogs and anyone that wants to pet me.  If you would like to give an older gal a chance, please e-mail my foster mom for more information about me
